Bittersweet

 Joy poster

This is the sign on the door of the pediatric clinic where my sister worked. My family all came together again for the first time since her funeral on Thursday. We attended two separate gatherings in which she was posthumously honored with two separate awards: a Star Award and the Extraordinary Women in Healthcare Award. She deserved them both - and more - but would have hated having the spotlight on herself. It was rewarding for us and yet still a painful occasion. I guess we're all still pretty raw.

That must be so hard for your family but what wonderful tributes.

And what a wonderful sign. Her co-workers must really miss her.

Didn't know what I would say when I clicked post a comment. Word verification is enspr - reminded me that one word we use for dying is to expire. Someone told me that God breathes breath of life into us (inspiration) and when we die we breathe that breath of life back to God - expire. It sounds like your sister did a lot of inspiring others before she breathed that last breath back to God.

May God inspire you today- that is breath life into you - breath Spirit into you. Amen.
